Jacobs Well are looking for a Driver to join our Team. We are a non-profit independent Charity, dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals and families in Gosport. Our primary focus is to provide low-cost items and Food to those who need it most. We provide several services to the public, these consist of a Removals Service, House Clearances and Furniture Donation Collections.
As a Driver, most of the time you will be working in a two-person van crew, however there will also be warehouse duties involved. If you think, this role suits you, and you can provide an outstanding customer experience for the people of Gosport - We would like to hear from you.
Essential Skills:
- Full Driving Licence (6 Points or less with no disqualifications).
- Good time keeping, and a Flexible Worker.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- A professional appearance and attitude.
- Confident when dealing with people.
- Over 25.
- The ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
- Familiar with manual handling techniques of heavier items.
- Physically fit and the ability to handle heavy lifting.
Your duties include:
- Lead, Help and Assist the Drivers Mate
- Check the Vehicle for Defects/Fuel
- Your day will start with you spending time completing daily checks, ensuring you have everything needed for the deliveries of that day.
- Work as a two-person team loading and unloading goods.
- Delivering furniture, white goods to customer’s homes.
- House Removals and Clearances.
- Collecting Food from Food Outlets.
- Ensure that all Furniture and items that are picked up on the day, are removed from the Van and placed into the Appropriate Area.
- Warehouse Operative
- Ensuring the van is empty, for the next day’s deliveries and pickups
- The tasks stated are not exhaustive
Working Hours:
- 16 hours over 2 days - this can be discussed.
If Successful:
- An application for a DBS certificate will be required in the event of the individual being offered the position
- Any Applicants with a Driving Licence will need to share your Driving Licence Information, for checks and Insurance Purposes.
- Applicants will be under a 6 Month Probation Period.
